About Gina Mariko
Gina Mariko Rosales is a powerhouse social impact entrepreneur, Event Producer, and cultural strategist based in San Francisco. She is the Founder & CEO of Make It Mariko, an award-winning events agency led by women of color as well as Executive Director of Brave New Spaces. Gina also co-founded several cultural initiatives including UNDISCOVERED SF, Pinayista, Balay Kreative, Weddings In Color, MINTED SF, and the POC Food & Wine Festival – each designed to amplify the voices of creatives of color.
Before launching her own ventures, Gina spent over a decade in corporate and nonprofit event planning, including seven years at Google, where she was Head of Marketing Events at Google X working with Self-Driving Cars and more innovative tech.
Gina’s mission is to create magical, meaningful experiences that remind people of the beauty and interconnectedness in life. Whether it’s a festival, culinary pop-up, corporate summit, or nonprofit gala, Gina brings a signature blend of precision, creativity, and cultural consciousness to every production.
Through her work, she has transformed grassroots ideas into city-wide movements that celebrate identity, spark dialogue, and drive economic and cultural revitalization. Her events unite artists, chefs, entrepreneurs, and changemakers to co-create moments that leave lasting impressions, and often, new collaborations.
Known for her visionary leadership and executional excellence, Gina continues to pave the way for the next generation of event professionals, especially women and creatives of color. She believes that events are more than just gatherings – they’re platforms for transformation, joy, and community power.

Sample Workshops I Offer
- The Art of the Pitch – In 2021 I raised over $700K from all women of color investors, and created an entirely new set of business offering to pivot to virtual. In this workshop I share my insider tips about how to create the perfect Pitch Deck, how to strategize your pitches to clients, and how to make your Sales life easier.
- Planning Events With Purpose – In this workshop I go through my process from conception, to goals, to audience, to event strategies, to programming to help you strategize and plan your next big event for a meaningful cause, whether it’s to grow your audience, launch a product, or raise funds.
- Navigating Business As a Woman of Color – Some of my top learnings after founding my own business, getting big corporate clients, and overcoming Imposter Syndrome to create a business that I was proud of.
- “Inbox Zero” Workshop – Sharing tips and tricks about how to master Gmail and the art of “Zero Inbox” so you can relieve stress and work more efficiently, from a former Google Administrative Business Partner. Spoiler alert: it’s not about responding to every email. (Sidenote: I used to teach this class at Google.)
